KT Tunstall - Trick Of The Light

They Defines a "Folk" as traditional music, passed down from generation to generation, and performed with no electric instruments. In the United States of America, the term has been used in addition to those songwriters who use only guitar or instruments "common" (harmoniam, accordion, banjo, etc.). And with that style monsters have been tagged as "Bob Dylan" in his first stage to "Iron and Wine" recently. And in this genre, is this Scottish girl: "KT Tunstall." While I find more pop, I guess that when she interpret the author of some of his songs, becomes a rare bird to pop up and you automatically step. Whether pop or folk, what is interesting is that these artists that I come at different levels, sometimes melancholy or reflective, other dancers. . With three albums to their credit, they let some of this informal sessions live, "Trick Of The Light - The Live Album."

Eskobar - There's Only Now

I tend to discriminate "pop", leaving it happen, not listen. I was wrong and I've missed good bands and proposals without even giving the benefit of the doubt. But ultimately, life consists of accidents, imperceptible to me, as I coincidences, you open your ears. Just listen to "Eskobar" intrigued by the name (although I have no idea that meant, but it reminded me to the infamous Colombian drug trafficker) pleasant indie pop style, with the particularity of the Swedish band sounded "happy-melancholy" (from "Abba" to "The Cardigans"). This is the album of 2003 they opened the doors to European and North American market after signing on recognized the record company V2: "There's Only Now". They have drawn record in 2008 and continue in this way. And so if you see anything wrong, and like most pop, as caramel is dissolved in the mouth, leaving only the pall. You decide

Mr Coconut - Around The World

According to the dictionary of the SAR, defines the word Kitsch as an art object: pretentious, outdated and considered in poor taste. . Taking these elements, The Lord Coconut comply with any of these: it is an artist, pretentious, interprets songs that are passed from fashion, but how bad?. Uwe Schmidt (AKA Mr. Coconut) is a German DJ based in Santiago, Chile. Edito a disc in 2000 that called attention and not leave anyone indifferent. Taking songs from Kraftwerk, a group of pioneering electronic music, he gave an unexpected twist with versions of mambo, cha-cha-cha and merengue. . This year, as an "orchestra" consolidated (the Venezuelan Argenis Brito in vowels, marimbas and xilofonos Germans, and saxophonists and percussionists from Brazil, etc.) Publishes "Around The World" with versions of Daft Punk, Eurythmics, While it is no longer novelty, curiosity is still there.

Melody Gardot - Worrisome Heart

Listen to Melody Gardot by chance, pleasant style, light jazz and folk. It was something like a Norah Jones in bleach. No, nor is it a mediocre interpreter or a woman hungry for fame and reflectors. This is the story of a woman who tries to jazz through the rise, overcome and make life more livable. And this is that you had an unpleasant surprise. For 19 years, while sat on his bike in his native Philadelphia, an SUV the embistiĆ³ skidding and leaving severe physical damage and brain. The doctors encouraged him to sing (as he did) to advance in their physical, mental and coordination. Even in bed, he recorded an EP "Some Lessons: The Bedroom Sessions" and draws the attention of a DJ of the radio that he had driven careers of other artists of jazz . And with media attention, launches "Worrisome Heart" an album with a producer and musicians recognized in the mainstream. . And despite having to use dark glasses, endure severe pain in the hip, spine, headaches and hypersensitivity to light and sound, and sings his voice makes me remember that there was no reason to complain, but just pouring out by the music.

Velocity Girl - Gilde Stars and Zealous Hearts

Searching old albums over net, I found this Velocity Girl, indie group disbanded in the mid-nineties.Originating in Maryland, (its name taken from a song from "Primal Scream") begins with a distorted sound and then soften shoegazing guitars and create more attached to the pop melodies. Had no commercial success, but managed to sign with the company's disc "Sub Pop" who has signed to bands recognized from "Nirvana" to "The Postal Service". Although some of its members formed projects beyond (Sarah Shannon, Jim Spellman), have not been able to create a base of fans as the tuveron that in the early nineties in the college circuit. This was his last album: "Gilde Stars and Zealous Hearts."
